New Year’s Resolution: Be More Productive

The New Year provides a perfect opportunity for a fresh beginning.  If you are in the business of online selling, you undoubtedly deal with many demands on your time. It’s critical to be productive with your work efforts if you want your online business to thrive.

Here are a few tips to help you be more productive in 2018:

  • Make a game plan for your day  – A disorganized day usually results in low productivity. You will be discombobulated if you wake up with a litany of tasks floating around in your head.  The best way to make your day flow smoothly is to make your to do list the night before.  That way, you can hit the ground running and make sure that you accomplish the most important things first.
  • Know when you are most productive – Every person works best during a certain part of the day. Schedule your most important tasks to be completed during these intervals.
  • Automate – There are many new technologies that will help you expedite your work. Instead of doing things manually, let technology handle the most time-intensive tasks.
  • Outsource – Online selling is a labor-intensive job. What you can’t automate, outsource.  If you try to do it all by yourself, you will run the risk of neglecting important things simply because you run out of minutes in your day. Outsourcing some of your tasks will help you cover all of your bases without sacrificing your quality of life.
  • Take a break – When you feel that you are swamped with work, take a breather. Step out of your office, and take a walk around the block. This will mitigate stress, allowing you to tackle your work with renewed vigor.
  • Make time to be alone – Some tasks require your full concentration and will be tough to complete as people flow in and out of your office.   Tackle those tasks before your co-workers come into the office or after they leave so that you can work without interruption.
  • Take notes – Nobody has a perfect memory. When something important crosses your mind, stop what you’re doing and write it down.  If you don’t get it in writing, that thought may flutter away.  Review your notes at the end of each day.

Taking steps to be more productive will help make your new year happier, healthier and more profitable.
